| Services: |
Vascular
services include standard ultrasound imaging of the
carotid, peripheral arterial and venous systems as
well as the abdominal aorta. We also offer
testing of the renal, celiac, mesenteric, iliac vessels
and extremity graft surveillance. Physiologic testing
with segmental pressures on the upper and lower extremities
is also offered.
In addition to the standard venous duplex that determines
the presence/absence of thrombus or venous insufficiency,
we offer ultrasound guidance to the physicians who
perform VNUS procedures within our lab. This state
of the art procedure offers relief for those who suffer
from varicose veins.
Vascular screening for abdominal aorta aneurysm (AAA)
and cerebrovascular disease is offered as an inexpensive
way to identify a potentially significant problem
before it becomes critical. The cost of these screenings
is $80 for both the carotid and abdominal aorta assessment.
The painless exam takes approximately 15 minutes with
payment required at check in prior to the test. Patients
should wear loose fitting clothing with easy access
to the neck and abdomen and arrive at least 10 minutes
prior to their scheduled appointment. Following the
exam, the results are reviewed by our vascular surgeon
then forwarded to your primary care physician for
any necessary follow-up.
General ultrasound services include thyroid, breast
and limited tissue ultrasound. These exams are coordinated
with our in-house physicians who provide the final
interpretations. In the event of questionable findings
and, at the physician's request, ultrasound guidance
is provided by our department for the biopsy and/or
aspiration procedures.
