Studies performed include carotid and lower extremity exams as well as duplex imaging of the aorta, surveillance of peripheral bypass and
hemodialysis grafts. Venous exams for deep vein thrombosis and varicose veins are also performed with immediate callback to the referring physician if requested.

HealthCare Midwest Ultrasound Laboratory is now offering a Vascular
Screening for carotid artery disease and abdominal aneurysm.

Our goal with the screening is to offer an inexpensive way to identify
individuals with significant disease before a problem arises.

This screening is for asymptomatic patients who are concerned about early detection of vascular disease in order to decrease the risk of stroke and abdominal aorta aneurysm associated with rupture and death.

The cost is $80.00 for both the carotid artery and abdominal aneurysm screening which is not covered or reimbursed by your insurance. The exam takes about 15 minutes and is painless. Payment is required at check in prior to screening.

After the screenings are reviewed by our vascular surgeon the results will be sent to your primary care physician for any necessary follow up.

Our office participates with a variety of insurance carriers. Since these arrangements change from time to time, we will review our participation status at the time of your registration appointment. If you have a question about pre-authorization, please contact your insurance carrier prior to your appointment.

You must bring your insurance card(s) to each appointment to help us provide the most efficient and trouble-free processing of your claim. If you are not insured, we request payment at the time of service.

If your insurance changes, please be sure to notify us as soon as possible. Having accurate information enables us to contact you promptly and submit claims accurately.

HealthCare Midwest has many physicians and service locations. For your convenience you will receive one statement for all HealthCare Midwest services. Any payment made after the time of service will be applied to your oldest balance.

If you have an emergency that requires immediate attention, call 911, or proceed directly to the hospital emergency room.

If you call our office for emergency problems after regular business hours or on holidays, you will be given an opportunity to speak to our message center. The operator will ask you a few questions and will contact the physician on call.
