Dr. Kokmeyer grew up in Parchment, Michigan and attended Parchment schools. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.A. majoring in biomedical sciences and Spanish. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School 19861990 and went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas 1990-1995. Following residency, he returned to Kalamazoo and joined K - Valley Orthopedics in 1995. He has been board certified in orthopedic surgery since 1997 and has been appointed a clinical instructor for Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies.
Dr. Kokmeyer is fluent in Spanish and has been involved in yearly medical mission trips to Honduras since 2000. He has volunteered as team doctor for Parchment High School football since 1995. His surgical interests include arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement, hand and upper extremity surgery and trauma.
Dr. Kokmeyer and his wife live in Parchment with their two children and are members of Haven Reformed Church. Dr. Kokmeyer enjoys spending time with his family, golf, paddleball, fishing, and woodworking.
