Steven Cowing graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma, U.S. Army Academy of Health Sciences Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas in May 1995. He completed his Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in Family Medicine at the University of Nebraska in May, 2000. Additionally, Steven successfully completed the Physician Assistant Emergency Medicine Course at the Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington in January, 2000.

Steven is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants. He has experience in the disciplines of primary care, emergency care and rheumatology. Steven also served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Battalion Medical Officer for the U.S. Army and functioned as a direct advisor to the Battalion Commander and his staff.

Steven joined HealthCare Midwest in October, 2007.
