Karla S. McBride was born and raised in Arkansas. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she was a member of Golden Key National Honor Society. Upon moving to Kalamazoo, she returned to school to pursue becoming a physical therapist assistant. While studying at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Karla performed clinical rotations in a variety of settings. This included acute care and wound care at Bronson Hospital, outpatient and aquatic therapy at Borgess Health and Fitness Center and HealthSouth in Paw Paw, and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation at the Springs of Bronson Place, a skilled nursing facility.
In 2004, Karla graduated Magna Cum Laude and began working in outpatient therapy at Industrial Medicine. She joined K Valley Orthopedics in 2006 where she does both aquatic therapy and is part of the clinic based physical therapy team. She has since become recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as a credentialed clinical instructor.
Karla and her husband have been in Kalamazoo for seven years and have a daughter.
