The HCMW Corporate Float Team, located at 601 John Street, Suite M-520, Kalamazoo, has an opening for an outgoing, patient oriented and team driven individual to support multiple providers at a variety of sites throughout the Kalamazoo region. The position is full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Hours may vary.
Medical/general/clinical office experience, general computer proficiency and the successful completion of an MA/LPN/RN program is required. Surgical experience, Microsoft Office, EMR and McKesson Plus experience along with CPR certification is preferred. Knowledge of surgical instruments and set-up, prior experience assisting with post-operative visits and handling prescription requests is beneficial. The candidate must have the ability to travel to all HCMW departments.
The primary role of the Clinical Float is to fulfill critical functions during staffing shortages created by PTO, leaves and/or vacancies. Additionally, the Clinical Float will support special projects, training initiatives, new group transitions and other staffing needs. Specifically, the individual is responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining patient vitals, setting up for surgeries, sterilizing equipment, processing prescription requests, performing phlebotomy, scheduling surgeries and assisting the provider in whatever capacity is needed.
